01Description

Ready to quote

What Longnote is, in one paragraph.

Longnote is a symptom tracker and pain diary for iPhone, for people with a recurring symptom or several at once. Logging takes seconds: one tap opens a tracker, the sheet fills in from last time, and one hand is enough. Over the weeks, the entries become a picture of what changed, in numbers, on a 3-D body and in photos, and a summary of the last 30 days to bring to a doctor. There is no account: entries are stored on your iPhone, and Longnote never sends them to us.

Longnote is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It doesn’t diagnose or recommend treatment — patterns are associations in your own log. Talk to a clinician about anything that worries you.

02Worth knowing

Three facts

Three things that are true today.

  • 1Your data stays yours. There is no Longnote account and no Longnote server. Your entries are stored on your iPhone, and Longnote never sends them to us. Encrypted backups go to your own iCloud Drive, or wherever you choose in Files. The app sends usage statistics to TelemetryDeck, never entries. The privacy policy lists those and the few optional features that talk to Apple.
  • 2Accessibility settings are supported. Longnote works with VoiceOver, the largest accessibility text sizes and Reduce Motion.
  • 3Patterns say how sure they are. Highlights on the Patterns tab are whole sentences with a strength word and the number of days behind them. They are statistics about your own log, never a verdict about your body.

04The maker

Max · Maker of Longnote

Made by one independent developer.

When you’re on several treatments and life keeps changing around them, “is this working?” becomes a hard question, for a condition and for how you feel day to day.

That was my situation for years. A cream from one doctor, tablets from another, a few supplements, plus sleep, stress and the seasons all moving at once. I tried many tracking apps, but for me they took too long to set up and too much effort to keep up, and none let me keep one overview. I built Longnote hoping it helps others see the whole picture, and walk into their next appointment with a record instead of a guess.
