Build 4: backups on by default, graded insights, Health symptoms

TestFlight build 4: automatic encrypted backups on by default, insights graded as observation, early sign or pattern, symptoms read from Apple Health, Bearable import.

Build 4 is the last large build before the beta widens. The themes: the record is safer by default, the insights are more honest, and more of your existing data can come in.

Backups

  • Automatic backups are on by default. An encrypted backup file is written to your own iCloud Drive on a schedule you can see in Settings → Backup. The passcode is generated by the app and kept in your device’s keychain; reveal it with Face ID when you need it for a restore on a new phone.
  • Retention keeps a sensible number of files per device and never touches another device’s backups.

Insights

  • Three standings. Every Highlight is now an observation, an early sign or a pattern. Patterns survive a false-discovery check across everything the app compared; early signs are limited to one, with their day count. How it works.
  • Four evidence levels in lists. The browsing lists (Moves with it, the weather sheet) show every link that cleared the per-pair bar, with its tier.
  • Weather as a factor. Pressure-drop days and rainy days join the insight engine as factors, for a region you type in. Cards end with associations, not causes.
  • A symptom’s how often can now be an outcome, not only its intensity.

Apple Health

  • Symptoms read from Health. Every symptom type Health offers has a matching preset, so headaches logged elsewhere can sit in the same tracker.
  • Save symptoms to Health is a new opt-in switch. Off by default; when on, only the symptoms you log in linked trackers are written.

Import

  • Import from Bearable. Settings → Privacy & data → Import from Bearable takes Bearable’s CSV export and shows a review sheet before anything is written.

Measures and logging

  • A Number measure type, set on a wheel. The Text measure is gone; notes cover what it did.
  • Small control sheets use system glass; whole-control taps everywhere.
  • Headache’s triggers measure is now Head triggers; a catalog review tidied the rest.

Journal and photos

  • Photo captions name their target; today lists what has not been logged yet.
  • The photo viewer shows one photo at a time with a filmstrip timeline, closes with a pull, and in Pro compares two photos side by side.

Pro

  • The Pro screen and onboarding were redesigned: a two-line headline, yearly and monthly side by side, lifetime below, and the line your data stays yours spelled out under the plans.
  • Internal QA builds use the real App Store products so TestFlight shows the actual paywall.

Brand

  • The folded-ribbon mark is now the app icon and the About tile.
  • Three more icons join the free set: heart, nose and puzzle.

If something in this build does not behave, email support@longnote.io with the build number from Settings → About & help. A person reads it.
